Why not just use Excel or Google Sheets?

Spreadsheets are fine until the numbers stop agreeing. The failure mode is always the same: someone exports data, transforms it by hand, and three people end up with three versions of revenue. BI fixes the source of that, not the symptom. The data is pulled automatically, transformed once with definitions everyone agreed on, and refreshed on a schedule, so the Monday dashboard is current and there is one number for each thing. If a couple of tabs genuinely cover your needs, we will tell you to keep them.

Do we need a data warehouse?

Most teams need a light one, not an enterprise platform. We use Postgres for smaller volumes and BigQuery when the data gets large, as a single place your pipelines land cleaned data so dashboards are not hammering your production database or your CRM's slow API. We scope it to your actual data size rather than overbuilding.

Can you pull data from our CRM, billing, and other tools?

Yes, that is the core of the work. We build pipelines from your CRM, billing, ERP, product database, and other systems so they all feed one warehouse on a schedule. Where a tool has a clean API we connect directly, and where it does not we find the reliable path so the data shows up without anyone exporting it by hand.

How do we know the numbers are right?

Two ways. We pin down KPI definitions with you up front so a metric means one agreed thing, and we model the data in dbt with tests that catch a broken upstream change before it reaches a dashboard. When a number looks wrong you can trace it back through the model to the source, instead of guessing.

Metabase, Superset, or a custom dashboard?

Accepted Answer

Metabase is the fastest path to self-serve dashboards your team can build on without code, Superset suits heavier visualization and larger orgs, and a custom Recharts build makes sense when the dashboard lives inside a product or needs a specific look. We pick based on who uses it and whether it is internal or customer-facing, and we will not build custom where an off-the-shelf tool does the job.

Can you embed reporting inside the product we sell?

Yes. When your customers need analytics, we embed dashboards in your product with per-tenant data isolation so each account sees only its own numbers. This often pairs with our SaaS and custom software work, where the warehouse and pipelines do double duty for internal and customer-facing reporting.

Will the dashboards update automatically?

Yes. Pipelines run on a schedule, daily or hourly depending on the metric, orchestrated so a failure alerts us instead of silently serving stale data. Nobody should be refreshing a report by hand, and the point of the whole system is that they do not have to.
